Golden days

One of my favourite places to shop near my workplace is James Street Market. It has so many delicious, boutique finds that are not in your typical supermarket and are often locally sourced, so you know you are supporting Australian businesses.

About a month ago I wandered down to the store with a work friend and had a browse and got caught up in the glamour of honey with gold flakes. Yes – gold flakes. And yes – that equals a higher price point. But let me tell you, it was worth it!

The honey is delicious and beautiful and I am actually quite happy with my purchase. It did cost a bit more but at the end of the day I got a quality, locally sourced product that was pleasing to the tongue and the eyes. It also came with a free dipper, score! And thanks to its cost I am more careful with how and when I use it, ultimately getting more value out of it and probably reducing my intake of fructose at the same time!

Here are some photos to drool over – let me know if you see the appeal?

And if you want to try it for yourself, look for Ogilvie & Co Honey with Gold Flakes – if you like pretty, delicious food, you won’t be disappointed!
