We moved into our new home almost two weeks ago. It’s about 15 minutes away from our old place but instead of a unit, it’s a huge two-storey house with a stunning outdoor space! And it’s basically our dream home. I mean, look at the view from my desk:
Perhaps one of the only downsides to the new home has been moving further from the city. A small price to pay for what we now have, but it does mean all the delicious food options are further from my reach! However, it certainly hasn’t stopped me.
A great benefit of having a whole house is how much easier it is to cook, to shoot and to, overall, be more creative. One of the first things I was excited to do was bake. I have a hand-me-down mixer from my MIL that I hardly used due to the limited space in our unit but decided to find a good banana cake recipe and give it a whirl in the new home. I got my recipe from Sally’s Baking Addiction. I changed it up a little – less sugar, half dairy free butter, strawberries on top – and it was delicious. Here’s how it looked:
But of course, I don’t have time (or enough people to feed) to bake every day, so sometimes going back to old haunts is essential. As I still train at the same gym, I am often in the area where we last lived. I decided to make a detour on the way home to Big Bad Wolff Espresso Bar. Some of the best coffee around AND some yummy food options to go with it! I decided to grab one of their cute wolf biscuits and a coffee for my husband to enjoy when I got home:
My next plans are to make a trip to Death Before Decaf to grab some beans. They only just made this possible and with my husband a bona fide Aeropress lover and expert, we are so excited to get some of our favourite coffee in the world! Apart from this, I am also collating my video game food recipes to work on. Until then, make sure you follow my Instagram to see all the regular content and look out for more blogs very soon.
